State Participation
Being involved in the National Alliance of State Prostate Cancer Coalitions (NASPCC) can be a very rewarding and productive experience. The "member" state prostate cancer coalitions are composed of survivors, physicians and other individuals who have an interest in the disease and who want to work together to impact prostate cancer in their state. Some of the activities that state prostate cancer coalition volunteers are involved with include acting as a liaison to the press, speaking before community groups about prostate cancer, organizing awareness/fundraising campaigns, interacting with state legislators and offices, and acting as a network for the state’s support groups. In short, coalition members are involved in activities that further the mission of the coalition.
NASPCC is made up of these state prostate cancer coalitions and is interested in developing additional state prostate cancer coalitions as well as strengthening the existent coalitions that may need assistance.
Please view our Best Practices documents to read about some of the state prostate cancer coalitions’ activities. You can make a difference! Contact your state prostate cancer coalition and ask how you can help.
